Bronze Coaching
Structured training, built around the life you actually have.
Bronze gives you the same progressive, MAP-based training the CycleCoach Collective runs on — but fitted to your week by a coach, and reviewed every month against your data. £99/month. No setup fee, no minimum term.
The option that's been missing
You already know generic plans don't work. You've tried the apps that hand everyone the same week, whether you've got 45 minutes on a Tuesday or three hours on a Sunday. And you've looked at full one-to-one coaching and thought: that's more than I need, and more than I want to spend.
There's been nothing in between. Either a plan that ignores your real schedule, or premium coaching at a premium price.
Bronze is the bit that's been missing.
What Bronze is
Bronze takes the structured, progressive training the Collective is built on — the MAP-based cycles that have worked for hundreds of riders — and a coach fits it to you.
Got 45 minutes on Tuesday instead of an hour? We reshape the session so it still does its job. Got an extra ninety minutes at the weekend? We use it. Work blew up your Thursday? We move things so the week still works.
Then, every month, a coach reviews your actual data and adjusts what's coming — so the plan keeps tracking your real progress, not a template's assumptions.
That's Bronze: proven structure, fitted to your life, reviewed against your numbers. By a coach, not an algorithm.
Is Bronze right for you?
Bronze is right for you if:
You want real structure, not a generic plan
Your available hours vary week to week and you need training that flexes with them
You're happy doing the sessions yourself and want a coach keeping the plan on track, not messaging daily
You want coaching that respects your budget as much as your goals
Bronze probably isn't right if:
You want unlimited contact with your coach and rapid back-and-forth — that's Silver
You need strength & conditioning built in — that's Silver and up
You're a triathlete — Bronze is cycling-only for now
You want a programme built from scratch around you specifically — that's Silver and up
We'd rather point you to the right tier than sell you the wrong one. If Bronze isn't the fit, Silver and the full range are a step up from here.
What's included
Progressive, MAP-based training cycles — the same structure the Collective runs on
Your plan fitted to your real weekly availability by a coach
A monthly data review, with your coming weeks adjusted based on what your numbers show, plus a couple of your questions answered
A coaching group chat where you can ask a quick question each week and get an answer from the team
TrainingPeaks to deliver and track your training
Not included, and this is deliberate — it's what keeps Bronze at £99: unlimited coach contact, strength & conditioning programming, or a fully bespoke plan built from the ground up. If you want those, Silver is built for it.
Larry, 72
Larry (@lewilson58) had been coached by a well-known premium coaching company. The fee stopped making sense for him, so he moved to CycleCoach — onto exactly this approach: structured training, fitted to him.
Twelve weeks later he'd put 10% on his sustainable power and finished 5th in the criterium at the Huntsman World Senior Games in Utah. That result came at altitude, so his power at sea level is likely higher still.
Larry is 72.
That's the whole idea behind Bronze. You don't need to pay premium-coaching money to get coaching that works — and the idea that you can't build real power as you get older is simply wrong. You need the right structure, fitted to you, by people who know the science. Larry got more from it than he'd been paying considerably more for elsewhere.
Why this works
CycleCoach is led by Ric Stern, who created the MAP test now built into Zwift, TrainingPeaks, TrainerRoad and Rouvy — and who's coached riders from club level to World, Commonwealth and Paralympic honours across 29 years.
The training in Bronze isn't a cut-down version of something. It's the same evidence-based structure the whole operation is built on. Bronze simply makes it affordable by sharing the programme's backbone across riders, while a coach handles the part that has to be personal: fitting it to you, and adjusting it as your data comes in.
Your questions, answered
Is £99 a month worth it when apps are cheaper?
Apps hand everyone the same plan and can't adapt when life gets in the way. Bronze gives you a real coach fitting proven structure to your actual week and reviewing your data every month. It's a fraction of one-to-one coaching, with a human in the loop that no app provides.
I ride by feel — won't this be too data-heavy?
No. We do the data work so you don't have to. You get a clear plan and sessions you can just go and ride. The numbers happen behind the scenes, in your monthly review — you're not the one buried in charts.
What if my available time changes?
That's exactly what Bronze is built for. Your plan flexes around the hours you've actually got. When your week changes, the training changes with it.
Is there a contract or setup fee?
No setup fee and no minimum term. Stay because it's working, not because you're locked in.
How is this different from the Collective?
The Collective is a self-guided group membership. Bronze is coached: a coach fits the training to your personal schedule, reviews your data with you each month, and you've got a group chat for quick questions along the way. Bronze doesn't include Collective membership — it's a step up from doing it yourself, not an add-on to it.
Can I move up later?
Yes. Plenty of riders start on Bronze and move to Silver when they want strength work, more contact, or a fully bespoke plan. We make that easy.
Start training that fits your life
Not sure Bronze is the right level? It's built for riders who want real structure fitted to their week, without the cost or the constant contact of full one-to-one coaching. If that's you, this is where to start.
Proven structure. Fitted to your life. Reviewed every month by a coach who knows the science. £99 a month, no setup fee, no minimum term.
