Coach-built means a coach builds it. Not an algorithm.

Your block is designed and reviewed by a real coach using the MAP-based methodology Ric Stern developed — the same one now behind the ramp test in Zwift, TrainerRoad, Rouvy and MyWhoosh. What it doesn't include is ongoing 1-to-1 contact, ad-hoc changes or detailed ride-file analysis. That's what our full coaching services are for, and you can step up any time.

What £25 actually gets you

How it works

Simple. Personal. Delivered to TrainingPeaks.

You give us the information. We build the block. Your sessions arrive ready to follow — and four weeks later, we do it again.

01

Tell us about you

Complete a short intake form with your numbers, goal, weekly availability, regular rides and any key constraints.

02

We build your block

We create your four-week training block using CycleCoach's MAP-based methodology and review it before delivery.

03

It lands in TrainingPeaks

Your structured sessions appear in your TrainingPeaks calendar, ready to sync to your compatible training devices and apps.

04

Then we do it again

Four weeks later, a coach reviews what you actually completed and builds your next block from it. That's where progression comes from — successive blocks, each built off the last.

Common questions

Before you start

This isn't an AI coach and it isn't a generic plan. Your four-week block is built from your MAP, FTP, current fitness, available time, goals and constraints—using the MAP-based methodology Ric Stern developed and that now underpins the ramp test in Zwift, TrainerRoad and other platforms. A coach reviews it before delivery, so the result is fitted to you rather than handed to everyone in the same form.
Yes. £25 is charged every four weeks, and each time you get a new block—built from what you actually did in the last one.

That's deliberate. One four-week block won't transform anyone. Progression comes from successive blocks, each built off the last, which is why a coach reviews your completed sessions before building the next.

Cancel any time before your next block is built. No notice period, no minimum term, no penalty. If you'd rather commit, the annual option is billed once for 13 blocks — two of them free.
No. If you already know your MAP, great—you can get it from a ramp test on Zwift, TrainerRoad, MyWhoosh, Rouvy or any smart trainer. If you don't know it, use our free MAP calculator to estimate it, or we'll build the MAP test into your first block so you can establish your number properly before the training progresses.
No. You need a TrainingPeaks account to receive your plan, but the free tier works perfectly well—that's what most riders use. The £25 is all you pay us; there's no hidden TrainingPeaks cost on top.
For the bike, a power meter or a smart trainer—the plans are power-based, so you need one or the other. Plus a free TrainingPeaks account to receive the sessions, which sync to your Garmin, Wahoo or Zwift. If you've opted in to strength work, a gym makes it easier but isn't required—every exercise has a home alternative.
Four steps. Pay for your block, fill in a short intake form (your numbers, goal and the hours you have), then connect your TrainingPeaks account with one click. A coach builds and reviews your block and delivers it to your calendar, usually within three working days. Before each new block, a coach reviews what you actually did and builds the next one from it.
Life happens. If your week changes occasionally, you can move sessions around within TrainingPeaks. If your schedule changes substantially, tell us before your next block and we'll build the new one around your updated availability.
Two sessions a week, 45–70 minutes each, scheduled after your hard rides so they don't compromise your cycling. The programme follows the concurrent training protocol from Rønnestad's published research on cyclists—heavy, low-rep, cycling-specific.

A gym makes it easier, but it isn't required—every exercise has a home alternative using dumbbells, kettlebells or bands. Tell us what you've got access to on the intake form and we'll build around it.

Three levels, from never-lifted to trains-regularly. And if you'd rather not do strength at all, say so—we'll leave it out.
