Ric Stern – Founder & Head Coach

BSc (Hons) Sports Science · 42-Year Race Career · Creator of the MAP Test · Elite & Paralympic Champion Coach

Ric Stern is one of the world's longest-running professional cycling coaches, with 42 consecutive race seasons and over 25 years of evidence-based coaching experience. He has coached world, national, and Paralympic champions; Tour de France competitors; Transcontinental winners; and hundreds of masters and developing riders worldwide.

His coaching approach blends data, science, and psychology with 30 years of power-meter analysis — and he's still racing, still testing, and still improving. In 2025, at age 56, Ric is the fittest he's ever been, proving that the methods he teaches work at every level and every age.

Ric developed the MAP test protocol in 1996, which is now used by platforms such as Zwift, Rouvy, TrainerRoad and adopted by coaches globally. His evidence-based, athlete-first approach has helped riders from beginner to elite achieve sustainable, long-term performance gains.

Neil Kent – Endurance Coach

Masters in Sport & Exercise Science · Based in Tuscany, Italy

Neil is an endurance specialist with a Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Science and years of racing experience across road, multi-sport and long-distance Gran Fondo events. He has coached a diverse range of athletes — from first-time Ironman 70.3 qualifiers to riders preparing for European Gran Fondos, national-level road races and local criteriums.

Based in Tuscany, near the legendary Monte Serra climb, Neil trains and coaches in the same terrain used by WorldTour professionals. His own background in road racing and high-volume endurance work gives him a practical understanding of what it takes to prepare for long, demanding events.

Neil's coaching style is methodical, grounded in physiology, and centred on the individual. He blends scientific principles with real-world experience to build sustainable progress — whether an athlete is chasing a Gran Fondo PB, targeting a 70.3 World Champs slot, or training for better fitness and confidence on the bike.

He has extensive experience working with cyclists, triathletes, time-crunched professionals, and athletes balancing training around busy lives. Neil is known for clear communication, realistic planning and helping athletes make consistent, meaningful gains.

Glenn Doney – Elite Cycling Coach

AusCycling Level 3 Elite Coach · 30+ Years Experience · Based in Canberra, Australia

Glenn has spent more than three decades coaching endurance cyclists at the highest levels of the sport. His athletes have won medals across road, track, MTB and cyclocross, and have raced at the Olympics, Paralympics, Pro-Tour, Elite and Masters World Championships, Junior Worlds, Commonwealth Games, World Cups, Oceania Championships and numerous National and State titles.

His coaching philosophy is simple and uncompromising: develop robust, self-reliant athletes who understand their own training and can perform under pressure. Glenn wants his riders to know why they're doing each session, not just what's written on the plan.

Based in Canberra, he works primarily with endurance-focused road, track, XCO MTB and cyclocross athletes who are aiming for State, National or World-level competition — from U19 and U23 through to Elite, Masters and Para.

A key part of Glenn's approach is intelligent load management. He carefully balances training stress, central and peripheral fatigue, and the health of joints and soft tissues so athletes can handle hard blocks of work and keep progressing year after year. The goal isn't just a single big result — it's sustainable, long-term performance.
