PERFORMANCE CONSULTATION
Get an expert’s honest view of your training — and a clear plan for what to do next.
Not every cyclist needs ongoing coaching. But most cyclists — at some point — need someone to look at their training with fresh eyes and tell them the truth: is this actually working, what’s being missed, and where would focused effort make the biggest difference?
The Performance Consultation is a structured, evidence-informed analysis of your training, your data, and your goals. Before your call, your coach reviews your files in detail and identifies the key issues — so the session itself is focused, efficient, and directly actionable rather than spent gathering basic information. You’ll finish with a written report, a personalised 4–6 week action plan, and two weeks of follow-up support to make sure you’re clear on next steps.
No ongoing commitment. No guesswork about whether you’re on the right track.
Performance Consultations are delivered by Neil Kent or Charlotte Farrant — trained CycleCoach coaches working to the methodology and standards developed by Ric Stern, who has been coaching cyclists with a power-based, evidence-led approach since 1997. Athletes coached within the CycleCoach system range from masters riders and time-crunched club racers to national champions and world-class performers.
Performance Consultations are scheduled with Neil or Charlotte based on availability and fit.
This is for you if…
• You’re self-coached and want an expert to validate — or honestly challenge — what you’re currently doing.
• You’ve hit a plateau and can’t work out whether the problem is training load, structure, intensity distribution, or something else entirely.
• You’re building toward a key event and want to make sure your preparation is actually on track.
• You want expert input without committing to ongoing coaching — one clear, high-quality session.
• You’re considering 1:1 coaching and want to understand what working with CycleCoach would actually look like before committing.
This is not for you if…
• You want ongoing personalised coaching with regular feedback and plan updates — Silver or Gold will serve you better.
• You don’t currently have training data or file history to review — the value of the consultation depends on having something meaningful to analyse.
• You’re looking for general fitness advice rather than performance-focused, data-informed coaching input.
What changes / what you get out of this
• Clarity on whether your training is actually working — not a gut feeling, but a structured review of your data, load, intensity distribution, and progression.
• A specific diagnosis, not generic advice — the report identifies what’s working, what isn’t, and why, based on your actual files and your actual goals.
• A 4–6 week action plan you can use immediately — concrete, prioritised next steps rather than a list of things to think about.
• Real-world constraints factored in — your schedule, work, family, and available hours are part of the conversation, not an afterthought.
• Two weeks of follow-up support — questions after the session are expected and welcome; your coach is available to make sure the plan is clear and implementable.
• A foundation for whatever comes next — whether you continue self-coaching with renewed clarity or move into 1:1 coaching, you’ll know exactly where you stand.
